Testimonials
All volunteers have their reasons to become involved. Whether they want to help, make friends, give back to their community or show their gratitude, the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital Foundation’s volunteers are remarkably generous with their time.

Sylvie Cormier,
“We found out that Philippe was suffering from neuroblastoma, a cancerous tumor specific to children, when he was only 7 months and 3 weeks old. At the time, he was the youngest child to be diagnosed at the Dr. Léon-Richard Oncology Centre.
Since then, Philippe has received follow-up care from staff at the Oncology Centre, who are truly angels! We are thrilled to say that Philippe has also made it through his remission period over the last year – he is now considered cancer-free.
Don’t wait, like I did, until a loved one is touched by cancer to get involved. Participate in the Tree of Hope campaign and donate, because you never know when a routine exam can change your life.
For me, the Tree of Hope symbolizes giving hope for our children affected by cancer. Philippe is living proof.”
Suzanne Robichaud
“Having worked as a nurse in various departments, I am familiar with the patients’ needs. They require comfort and access to specialized equipement. After many years of service in health care, I feel that it is my duty to give back to my employer.I have the opportunity to do this with the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital Foundation as Chair of the Valentine’s Day Gala committee since 2000. This Gala raises funds to support the development of medical specialities within the hospital. It is a great way for me to share my expertise and give back to my community.”
Louisette Boucher
“My students and I have been volunteers at the Tree of Hope radiothon for the past three years. Each year, it is always a great pleasure to offer our help for this good cause. My students enjoy this rewarding experience and are happy to have the chance to participate as volunteers.”
Chantal Saumure, Inf. (Bacc. Sc. Inf., MBA)
“The NephrologyService sincerely thanks the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital Foundation for its continued committment throughout the expansion of the hemodialysis unit.
Without the efforts of this team and the volunteers, we would not have been able to fully accomplish our mission to improve infrastructures for patients, their families and health professionals.
The NephrologyService supports the Foundation’s fundraising campaigns. Since 2000, the annual presence of the Nephrology Service at the Valentine’s Day Gala has raised a total of $27,000. It is a partnership that we are proud to share with other departments within the Beauséjour Regional Health Authority for the realization of their projects.
We wish the Foundation much success in the years to come!”
Sister Aldora Allain,
“It would be difficult for me not to support this cause as I deal with cancer patients and their families every day.
The Mgr. Henri-Cormier Lodge, an investment of over $4.7 million in donations, is solid proof of the results which can be obtained with the solidarity and mutual aid of all. Together, we can make a difference!”
The Foundation greatly appreciates and sincerely thanks all of its volunteers for their precious contribution to the well-being of our patients and our community.
